Laura is a fashion editor and stylist with nearly 15 years of experience in the NYC fashion industry. Specializing in the multicultural, millennial, and Gen Z markets, her career in styling and creative content can be seen across print, digital, TV, branded content, and celebrity projects.
Originally from Austin, Laura moved to NYC for an internship at the acclaimed artist agency Art + Commerce. Looking to pursue a career in styling, she began assisting A-list stylists, Victoria Bartlett and Joanne Blades, on fashion editorials, celebrity styling, and NYFW runway shows. Laura then began working at Latina magazine and quickly worked up the ranks. Starting as a fashion assistant, she was later promoted to various titles including: sittings/credits editor, fashion writer, and finally, a contributing editor.
In 2009, Laura was hired by the British retailer Topshop, as their senior stylist, helping the brand launch their first-ever US flagship and personal shopping division in New York. Later working in the digital space, Laura began consulting for luxury fashion brands, Calvin Klein and Mikimoto, on social media, digital marketing, influencer campaigns, and content strategy. Additionally, she worked with the fashion eCommerce site Cools.com, as their content & marketing manager.
For several years, Laura was the fashion editor at Cosmopolitan for Latinas Magazine (a Hearst publication), where she wrote and reported on fashion news, market trends, and emerging designers for her column, Latino Rising Stars. She also conceptualized, edited and styled, fashion editorials and celebrity features.
In 2017, Laura partnered with Dove as their multicultural brand ambassador and celebrity stylist partner, promoting the brand’s “100 Colors Invisible” Dry Spray Deodorant Initiative. Laura’s media-facing role included two consecutive, national media campaigns (2017 Q3 - 2018 Q3).
